These terms are the agreement between you and Dublens. Using the service means you accept them. The short version: upload only what you have the right to upload, the output is yours to post, a machine translation is not a guarantee, and you are responsible for what you publish.

1. What Dublens does

Dublens takes a short video with English speech in it and returns the same video with a new audio track in Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa, timed to the original cut. The original audio is removed rather than mixed under the dub. This version accepts MP4 files of up to 60 seconds and 50 MB.

2. Who may use it

You must be at least 18, or 13 and over with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision. If you are using Dublens for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation to these terms.

3. Your content stays yours

You keep every right you already had in the video you upload and in the dubbed file you get back. You grant Dublens a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, transmit and modify your video strictly to produce the dub you asked for and to deliver it to you. That licence ends when the file is deleted, which is 24 hours after the job is created.

4. What you promise about what you upload

By uploading a video you confirm that:

you own it, or you have permission from everyone who does;
every person whose voice or face appears in it has agreed to it being processed this way;
it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights.

5. What you may not do

Upload a recording of somebody in order to make them appear to say something in another language without their agreement, or to impersonate, defraud or deceive anyone.
Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, that harasses or endangers a person, that sexualises a minor, or that incites violence.
Use the output for political disinformation, fake endorsements, scam or “get rich quick” promotions, or any misleading commercial claim.
Attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, evade its limits, or access another person's job.

Dublens does not clone voices, and it will not be built to clone a voice that is not the uploader's own. Nigeria has an active voice-fraud problem, and this restriction is a product commitment rather than a preference.

6. What the output is, and is not

The transcript, the translation and the synthesised speech are produced by automated systems. They can be wrong. They can mistranslate, mispronounce a name, flatten a joke, or miss a tone distinction that changes the meaning of a word. Pidgin output is the one already checked against real results; Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa are marked unvalidated in the interface until native-speaker creators have signed off on them.

Listen to the whole file before you publish it. You are responsible for what you post, and Dublens is not responsible for the consequences of publishing an output you did not check. Do not use Dublens for medical, legal, safety-critical or emergency content.

7. Availability, limits and price

The service is provided as it is, when it is available. We may change, limit or suspend it, impose usage caps, or discontinue features at any time. Free use may be capped per person. No price is offered or promised on this site; if paid plans launch, their terms will be published before you are charged anything.

8. Our intellectual property

The Dublens name, interface, design and software are ours. These terms give you permission to use the service, not a licence to copy it.

9. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dublens is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that a job will succeed, or that a translation will be accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dublens is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Dublens in the three months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Dublens against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from content you uploaded, output you published, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

12. Suspension

We may refuse or remove a job, or block access, if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken. Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we will say why.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use Dublens after a change means you accept the new version.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without limiting any right you have as a consumer to bring a claim where you live.
