Dublens takes a video you upload and returns it speaking another Nigerian language. To do that it has to read your file. This page says exactly what happens to it, who else sees it, and when it is deleted. There are no accounts, no cookies and no analytics trackers on this site.

1. Who this covers

This policy covers https://dublens.org and the dubbing service on it. Dublens is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at privacy@dublens.org.

2. What we collect

We collect only what the job needs to run:

The video you upload, and everything derived from it while the job runs: the extracted audio track, the transcript with timestamps, the translation, the synthesised speech, and the finished MP4.
Job metadata: a random job id, the file name and size, the clip length, the target language and voice you chose, and timing measurements such as per-segment drift.
Ordinary server logs, which include your IP address, the time of the request and the user agent. These exist to keep the service up and to spot abuse.

We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number. We do not set cookies, we do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and nothing on the site tracks you across other sites. Whatever speech is in your video will be transcribed, so treat anything said in the clip as information you are handing over.

3. Why we are allowed to process it

Processing your upload is necessary to deliver the dub you asked for — that is the contract between us, and it is our lawful basis for everything in the first two bullets above. Server logs are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service.

4. Who else sees your video

Dublens does not sell, rent or share your content for advertising, and nobody at Dublens watches your clips as a matter of routine. Parts of a job are sent to processors that do specific work on our instructions:

Spitch receives the extracted audio track for transcription, and the translated text for speech synthesis.
OpenRouter receives the transcript text for translation, and routes it to the language model provider that fulfils the request. When the source is clean English, OpenRouter may also receive the audio track for transcription.
Our hosting and storage provider stores the files for the retention window below.

These providers may process data outside Nigeria. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. How long we keep it

Working files — the extracted audio and every synthesised segment — are deleted as soon as your MP4 is ready.
Your upload and the finished video are deleted automatically 24 hours after the job is created. Download the result before then; we cannot recover it afterwards.
Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.

We do not keep a copy of your video to train anything. Dublens does not train models on your content.

6. Security

Files are transferred over HTTPS and stored under a random job id that is not guessable and is not listed anywhere. Anyone holding a job link can download that job's result until it expires, so treat the link as private. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

7. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. If you are in the UK or the EU, the UK GDPR and the GDPR give you equivalent rights and a right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

Because jobs carry no account and are deleted within 24 hours, the quickest way to exercise a deletion right is simply to wait. If you want something removed sooner, send us the job id at privacy@dublens.org and we will delete it.

8. Children

Dublens is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process their personal data. If you believe a child has uploaded something, write to us and we will remove it.

9. Voices and likeness

Dublens does not clone voices. The voices it produces are synthetic and belong to the speech provider; they are not built from your recording. If voice cloning is added later it will be restricted to the uploader's own voice and will require a live verification phrase, and this policy will be updated before that ships. 10. Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the home page before they take effect.
